Arts for Spirituality:

Painting 2020

Women and children 15 years of age and older can learn how to draw & paint using different techniques. Students will need to buy their own art supply. For clarification what specifically you need to have in supplies, please talk to Sister Lucia (contact information at bottom). Beginner classes will be every Tuesday from 11:00am-1:00pm, and Advanced classes will be every Thursday from 11:00am-1:00pm.

Beginner Class: from September 8th-29th 2020, the medium focus will be acrylic painting. From October 6th-29th, the medium focus will be painting on fabric.

Advanced Class: this class/art club will be multi-medium oriented, and doesn't follow a set schedule concerning the mediums.

Painting for All: from 9:00am-10:30am on September 12th, September 26th, October 10th, and October 24th, Sister Lucia will be at the center for anyone to come in and use that time of peace to paint. People must be 10 years of age & older to participate, limited to 6 people.

Instrumental Music: Piano or Guitar

Women & children are invited to learn how to play the piano or guitar. Piano's age starts at 8 years and older, while Guitar starts at 10 years and older. The classes are 50 minutes a week, and you must have an instrument at home for at-home practice. Music classes are held Monday 10:30am-12:30pm; Mon/Tues/Thurs 3:00pm-5:00pm; and Saturday 10:00am-4:00pm. Students will talk to Sister Lucia in order to schedule their class within these times.

In the Spiritual Journey Through Arts programs, you can:

  • Learn how to read, write, and play music

  • Express yourself with art, through prayer

  • Deepen your spirituality & peace of heart

  • Create marketable products

Tea & Painting Art Sessions

Sister Lucia is offering Tea & Painting group sessions, limited to 6 people as a group. During a session, the group will be doing a step-by-step paint-along with Sister Lucia. To book a date for a session, please call (650) 605-5150.

We are also looking for volunteers for the Arts for Spirituality program, to help in any of the following ways:

  • Musicians to assist with the music classes
  • Artists to help teach or assist in art sessions
  • Computer-savvy individuals to help edit images, create cards through programs, and help with prayer preparation

The Arts for Spirituality program would appreciate any donations of digital keyboards, digital pianos, nylon-string guitars, music books, and art supplies.

These classes are taught with the purpose behind it being to enrich the students' spirituality and develop their artistic interests. There are morning and afternoon classes, and each class is free of charge. For more information, please contact Sister Lucia, using the contact information found here.
